Sölden has 2 glaciers, a superb, big ski area beneath them, some of the best après ski in the world, a ski-in, ski-out ski holiday resort at Hochsölden and a resort that is large and well equipped – the ski resort of Sölden is one of the very best around for corporate ski events.
The FIS traditionally open the ski race season on the Sölden glaciers in October and the season on the glaciers runs until early summer, ideal for early winter / Christmas events, as well as corporate ski trips in April.
Aside from the world-beating après ski, Sölden boasts fine dining and a 3000m+ wine cellar at the IceQ restaurant, the highest in the Alps. Just south of the Sölden is one of the best spa complexes in the Alps, and there are a range of fantatsic hotels with luxurious spas.
Corporate ski event activities include tandem paragliding, ice driving, snowshoe hikes, and the fantastic Electric Mountain Festival music extravagnza. Sölden consistently delivers incredible corporate ski events on the towering peaks of the southern Ötztal.
The skiing in Sölden is spread over two mountains that are separated by the Rettenbach valley and then additionally there are 2 glacier skiing areas beyond this. All the skiing is lift-linked and the ski area features circuits to take in the best of the skiing and snowboarding in Sölden.
Lower down there are wooded ski pistes directly above Sölden whilst the ski-in, ski-out resort of Hochsölden is above the tree line. Corporate ski events invariably have mixed-ability clients and Sölden offers great beginner skiing around Giggijoch and intermediate terrain in much of the rest of the ski area, including the glaciers.
The ski area around the Giggijoch mid-station is well equipped, featuring several high-capacity ski lifts and a ski area that offers wide and gentle ski pistes, ideal for beginners and early intermediates. This is also the route for accessing the twin glacier skiing areas.
The ski pistes around Hochsölden offer some of the steeper skiing and snowboarding in Sölden whilst intermediates will find endless intermediate ski pistes throughout the ski area. One particular highlight for those on a corporate ski trip is the IceQ restaurant, the highest in the Sölden ski area, offering superb views from an architectural masterpiece – there is also the highest wine cellar in Austria.

There are a few distinct areas of Sölden. The main resort runs north to south along the main road and river. The majority of the entertainment and hotels are located here, as are the ski lifts that access the twin mountains above Sölden. Innerwald is a settlement just above Sölden which is connected by a short funicular and offers ski-in, ski-out accommodation, easy access to the resort amenities, and some great early evening après ski.
Much higher on the mountain is Hochsölden which is a totally ski-in, ski-out resort which is connected to Sölden down in the valley by a steep road and ski pistes. At 2090m Hochsölden offers a real alpine feel in the serenity of the peaks.
Sölden itself is a lively resort with numerous après ski spots that throng throughout the early evening. As well as the après ski, Sölden has a large leisure complex, an excellent spa complex nearby and some great dining options. As well as the après ski, corporate ski event attendees can enjoy some excellent dining experiences as well as possibly the best spa in the Alps – the Aqua Dome, located just north of Sölden.
High on the list of most corporate ski event briefs is après ski and Sölden is at the top of the pile for this distinguished pastime. Sölden après ski starts for many in one of the numerous mountain huts which line the ski pistes back to the resort. The huts feature outdoor terraces and remixed Euro-pop is often audible from mid-afternoon for passing skiers and snowboarders.

Sölden hosts events throughout the season and they start with the opening FIS ski race on the Sölden glaciers in October. These events are very well supported by local après ski revellers, whilst New Year sees one of the biggest parties in the Alps. More refined indulgence is offered as well with several wine cellars offering tasting; one of which is located at over 3000m.
There are some excellent meeting venues both in Sölden and on the mountains. Several quality design hotels can accommodate meetings in superb surroundings and skiing & meeting schedules can be easily incorporated. There is the possibility to combine a seminar into a spa day just south of Sölden, again in exquisite surroundings.
Opened in 2020, the Gurgl Carat conference centre in Obergurgl, just a few minutes south of Sölden offers some of the most striking and impressive conference facilities in the Alps – they are also the highest!
On the mountain, there are numerous locations to meet formally or for a more relaxed dining experience. The lookout platform on the Tiefenbach Glacier with its precipitous drops and remarkable views is a must-visit feature for any group and offers great opportunities for team photos.
