Cloud-piercing skiing, a horizon of pure eye candy, the best spa in the region, castles, breweries in mountain huts, fine dining & a range of après ski hot spots – Kaprun consistently delivers fantastic corporate ski trips.

Marketed with, and neighbouring the lakeside resort of Zell am See, Kaprun has so much for corporate ski trips. The Kaprun Maiskogel ski area is lift-linked to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier – the highest skiing in the Salzburg region. The Zell am See ski area can be accessed just outside the resort and the whopping Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski region is just down the valley.

There are several lively après ski bars in the resort centre and at the lift base station, as well as dining experiences that range from fine dining in a historic castle to dinner in a mountain hut with an on-site micro-brewery.

Down in the valley is the Tauern Spa, the best spa complex in the region and offering remarkable views of the glaciers and peaks. Ballooning and scenic flights are possible over Kaprun, or a more relaxed skate on the lake once it freezes over. For those booking a corporate ski event in spring, golf or sailing on Lake Zeller, next to Zell am See, can follow a morning of skiing.

Between the towns of Zell am See and Kaprun there are ample après ski bars to keep any corporate ski group occupied. Afternoon DJ at the Ice Camp on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, slope-side mayhem in the Baumbar at the Maiskogel base station, or go Crazy with Daisy in Zell am See.

Kaprun skiing

The variety of skiing and snowboarding on offer in the combined Zell am See - Kaprun is impressive. For beginners, the local skiing at the Maiskogel ski area, on the edge of Kaprun is a great option. The skiing is almost all gentle, tree-lined and perfect for groups wanting a couple of hours of the snow, on arrival or before departure.

For more extensive and better intermediate skiing and snowboarding then the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is located just outside and above Kaprun. As well as offering guaranteed snow and skiing from autumn through to early summer, the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier has wide slopes, often with excellent snow conditions throughout the winter.

The skiing at the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is fantastic for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, whilst the opening of new off-piste routes has greatly extended the more advanced terrain. Additionally, Zell am See offers further intermediate skiing as well as steeper terrain on the pistes running back to the resort.

The Zell am See ski area is covered on the combined Zell am See - Kaprun ski pass and is located above and accessed from various parts of the resort of Zell am See. The Zell am See ski area has more steep skiing than either Kaprun – Maiskogel or the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. Further skiing is available in the huge Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski region.

Kaprun resort

Kaprun occupies a valley between the towering Kitzsteinhorn Glacier and the neighbouring Lake Zeller. It is both modern and historic with an ancient castle occupying one side of the village and the ultra-modern Tauern Spa on the other side of the resort.

There are a wide range of shops, bars and entertainment in Kaprun with a good atmosphere and year-round appeal.

In late spring it is possible to combine skiing and golf in Kaprun on the nearby glacier and golf course. The area offers some really interesting activities such as scenic flights from the nearby airport, sailing on Lake Zeller at Zell am See and great fine dining options in the area.

Kaprun après ski

Après ski in Kaprun is based around 3 locations. The first is on the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier where the Ice Camp offers a great location for an afternoon in the sun with deck chairs and a DJ playing on the terrace.

Then there is the Maiskogel base station, with umbrella bars and the Baumbar. Later in the evening, there are several après ski and sports bars located in Kaprun centre.

For corporate ski event groups looking for a themed evening of après ski then there are local huts, one of which has its own micro-brewery, live music evenings as well as tobogganing and snow tubing.

As well as Kaprun après ski, the neighbouring ski resort of Zell am See offers some excellent après ski venues around the base stations and in the town centre, including the famous Crazy Daisy.
