4m of snow on the Stubai Glacier

April opens with fresh snow, blue skies and a whopping 4m snow pack.

Word was out today and most of Tirol and south Germany, it seemed, descended on the Stubai Glacier for epic April conditions. Fresh overnight snow settled on a huge 4m snow pack, whilst the skies cleared, making for a sensational second day of April skiing.

Crowds are set to have peaked today with national holidays and what should follow are snowy spring days with fewer on the slopes. At this time of the year, it is possible to enjoy the sunny days in the valleys, with golf, alfresco dining and spa pools all dovetailing with action on the snow.

Snow in the higher ski areas is forecast for mid-week and blue skies are set to follow at the end of the week and over the weekend. Winter 2017/18 has a whole lot of life left in it yet!
