Kitzbühel on 1 side & the Ski Welt the other.

Snowflake

With the Ski Welt region to the north and the Kitzbühel ski area to the east, Westendorf occupies a fantastic location for intermediate and better skiers to head off towards the horizon on distant ski safaris.

The resort of Westendorf is attractive and low-rise and there are a number of good bars dotted around the central area. There are farms adjacent to many of the hotels and the resort has an authentic feel to it.

WESTENDORF SKIING

Westendorf has a good range of attractive tree-lined intermediate skiing, whilst beginners can ski in an area on the edge of the village. For better skiers, the slopes of Kitzbühel and the Hohe Salve above Söll offer more challenging terrain. Intermediate skiers are the best served in the Westendorf area (and beyond) with huge distance to cover to the north as far as Ellmau and Going in the Ski Welt, whilst heading east out of Westendorf, skiers and boarders can reach as far as Pass Thurn at the eastern edge of the Kitzbühel ski region. Between both of these points, skiers and snowboarders will travel through wonderful, tree-lined terrain with endless mountain huts and lifts.

For better skiers and boarders, there is a steep black heading back toward the resort or else a route via Brixen that reaches the Hohe Salve, above the resorts of Brixen and Söll. The iconic, conically-domed peak offers the best steep skiing to the north of Westendorf. There are steep routes on most sides of the Hohe Salve. Heading east from Westendorf, it is easy to reach the Kitzbühel ski area and the infamous Hahnenkamm ski route, the near vertical race course that the worlds’ best skiers throw themselves down each January during the Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm race weekend. Beginner skiers have a dedicated ski area on the edge of the resort and some gentle terrain in the Westendorf ski area.
